Ma jiro qof isagu doortay in uu dhasho. Mana jiro qof ka baxsan kara geerida.

Inta labada u dhexeysa ayuu qofku nolosha qaarkeed ku leeyahay saameyn.

Marka aad u fiirsato jirka Aadanuhu sida uu u sameysan yahay, waxaad arkeysaa mucjiso.

Qof waliba barkintii uu ku fariisan lahaa ayuu salka ku sitaa. Qaadis ugama baahna mana illoobi karo. Waxaan u naqaan badhi.

Gabar waliba waxay shafka ku sidataa laba naasood oo ah warshad caano iyo meeshii lagu keydin lahaa.

Marka ay ummusho ayay ibta afka u gelisaa ilmaha dashay si ay u nuujiso.

Waa yaabka Rabbaaniga ah ee ilmuhuna sida in ay hore u yaqaanneen ayay markiiba nuugaan.

Qof waliba aalad maqal ayuu madaxa labadiisa dhinac ku sitaa. Waliba waxaa loo yeelay dallad duleelka dhegta u soo duwda hirarka jabaqda, wasakhda iyo cayayaankana ka ilaalisa.

Qof waliba mikrofoon uu cod baahiye ku rakiban yahay ayuu wataa oo waxaa loo yaqaan af iyo xarkaha codka oo dhuunta ku jira.

Qof waliba laba iftiin arag oo qoyan ayuu foolka ku sitaa oo waa indhaha.

Qof walba waxaa qalab u ah, laba gacmood oo leh calaacalo wata faro dhuudhuuban oo waliba ay foodda uga rakiban yihiin ciddiyo wax muda, xagta ama qabta.

Qof kasta waxaa madaxa ugu dadan timo uu ka harsado qorraxda, ka daboola dabaysha, kana hugto qabowga.

Waa in yar oo ka mid ah nimcada dusheenna ka muuqata ee Rabbi na siiyay.

Gudaha qofka marka loo galo, xubin kasta oo aad shaqadeeda u dhabba gasho waa mucjiso iskeed ah.

Wadnuhu waa mishiin shidan oo shaqo galay adiga oo aan dhalan, shaqeynayana ilaa iyo hadda oo aad sadarradaan akhrineyso. Daqiiqad isma taagin. Adiga oo hurda iyo adiga oo aan ka fekereyn ayuu iskiis u jugleynayaa habeen iyo maalin.

Unagyadiisa bilyannada ahi isma jiiran, adigana kaagama baahna kala hagid.

Xubnaha ugu la yaabka badan waxaa ka mid ah maskaxda. Waxay si xowli leh u suurta gelisaa xusuusta, fahamka, gorfeynta iyo kala saaridda sax iyo qalad.

Qof aadan sannado badan arag kana fekerin haddii uu hadda kaa soo horbaxo, ilbiriqsi kuguma qaadaneyso in aad garato.

Nimcooyinka mucjisada ah ee aan haysanno mid kasta waxaa la socota mas’uuliyad.

Afku ku hadal keliya ma aha. Waxaad ku sheegi kartaa run, waxaad ku difaaci kartaa dulmanaha, waxaadna ku dhaawici kartaa qof aan galabsan.

Gacanta wax baad ku dhisi kartaa, waxna waad ku burburin kartaa.

Maskaxda waxaad ku curin kartaa aragti dadka anfacda oo loo aayo. Mid dhibaato horseedda oo la eedana waad ku allifi kartaa.

Mar kasta waa in aad xusuusnaato nimcada aad haysato oo aad ogaato in aad qani tahay.

Taasi waxay ku bareysaa in aad Allah ku mahadiso. Alxamdulillah.

Sidoo kale, waa lama huraan in aad mar kasta xusuusnaato nimcooyinkaas oo dhan oo ay u horreyso in aad marka horeba dhalatay. Iyo xubnaha jirkaaga oo mid waliba ay mucjisada tahay in aanad ka marmin, adiguna aanad sameysan karin midkoodna.

Tanina waxay ku bareysaa in aad is ogaato in taagtaadu ay kooban tahay oo aanad kibrin.

Qofku inta badan waxa uu ku faano, ama ku dhaliya isla weynidu ma aha wax uu isagu sameystay. Xataa haddii uu ku faano aqoon, hanti ama awood kale oo uu isagu tacbaday, waa in uu gartaa in dadka kale aanay isaga ka karaama hooseyn.

Taasi waxay kuu sahleysaa in aad ka fogaato kibir iyo isla weyni. Kana dhowrsato in aad ku xad gudubto Aadanaha.

Heer kasta oo aad nolosha ka gaarto iyo awood kasta oo aad is biddo, waxaa jirta arrin fudud oo haddii aad u fiirsato maalin kasta ku xusuusineysa in aad dadka la mid tahay.

Maalin ma jirto aanad dadka ka dhuuman, si adiga oo keligaa ah aad isaga saarto, isagana nadiifiso wax aan udgooneyn oo wasakh ah oo jirkaaga ka yimid. Waliba ma aha wax kuu qarsoon oo qof kasta ayaa kugu og. Waayo qof kastaa waa kula mid.

    English translation · Know Yourself!

By Yusuf Garaad Omar · Translated from the Somali original above.

No one chose to be born. And no one can escape death.

Between those two events, a person has some influence over parts of life.

When you look closely at how the human body is made, you see a miracle.

Everyone carries on their body the cushion they sit on. It needs no carrying and cannot be forgotten. We call it the buttocks.

Every woman carries on her chest two breasts: a milk factory and a place to store its product.

When she gives birth, she places her nipple in her newborn’s mouth to breastfeed.

It is a divine wonder that babies immediately begin to suckle, as though they already knew how.

Everyone carries a hearing device on either side of the head. Each has also been given a canopy that directs sound waves towards the ear opening and protects it from dirt and insects.

Everyone carries a microphone with a loudspeaker attached: the mouth and the vocal cords in the throat.

Everyone carries two moist lights of vision on the face: the eyes.

Everyone is equipped with two hands, with palms and slender fingers, each tipped with a nail that can pierce, scratch or grip.

Everyone has hair covering the head, providing shade from the sun, shelter from the wind and protection from the cold.

These are just a few of the blessings visible on our bodies that our Lord has given us.

When we look inside the body and examine the work of each organ, every one is a miracle in its own right.

The heart is a running engine that began working before you were born and continues working as you read these lines. It has not stopped for a minute. While you sleep, and while you give it no thought, it beats on its own, day and night.

Its billions of cells do not collide with one another, nor do they need you to direct them.

Among the most astonishing organs is the brain. It makes memory, understanding, analysis and the distinction between right and wrong possible with remarkable speed.

If someone you have neither seen nor thought about for many years suddenly appears before you, it takes you less than a second to recognise them.

Every miraculous blessing we possess carries a responsibility.

The mouth is not only for speaking. You can use it to tell the truth and defend the oppressed, but you can also use it to hurt an innocent person.

With your hands, you can build things, and you can destroy them.

With your mind, you can create an idea that benefits people and earns their gratitude. You can also devise one that causes harm and brings blame.

You must always remember the blessings you possess and recognise that you are rich.

That teaches you to thank Allah. Alhamdulillah — praise be to Allah.

It is also essential to remember all these blessings, beginning with the fact that you were born at all, and the organs of your body, each a miracle you cannot do without and none of which you can make yourself.

This teaches you to recognise the limits of your own strength and to avoid arrogance.

Much of what people take pride in, or what makes them feel superior, is not something they created themselves. Even if they are proud of knowledge, wealth or another form of power they worked to acquire, they must understand that other people are no less worthy of dignity than they are.

That makes it easier to avoid arrogance and conceit, and to refrain from violating the rights of others.

Whatever level you reach in life, and whatever power you believe you possess, there is a simple matter that, if you reflect on it, reminds you every day that you are like everyone else.

Not a day passes without you seeking privacy so that, alone, you can expel and clean away unpleasant-smelling waste from your body. Nor is this a secret: everyone knows it about you, because everyone is just like you.
